Principal's Message

Thank you for your interest in our school.

You are the primary educators of your children and we are pleased to be partners in this important endeavor. At St. Catherine’s we have an extremely dedicated staff who aim to be a blessing to the students and each other.  We strive for an environment that is respectful, motivating, challenging and Christ-like.

Student:

Being part of the St. Catherine’s community has really been special to me in my elementary school years. I have made lots of good friends, and established good relationships with teachers. I have been privileged to take part in many extracurricular activities. Programs like soccer, basketball, track and field, and choir have been special experiences that have enriched my time in St. Catherine’s School. One of the most important reasons I am so glad to have spent time at St. Catherine’s School is for my faith formation and to be around other children who share a belief in Jesus.

Student's Parent:

St. Catherine’s offers the opportunity for children to learn in a faith environment while offering families the opportunity to become part of a community that works together to support and enhance their children’s education.

Grade 2 Teacher:

A big part of the Grade 2 year at St. Catherine’s is a focus on Jesus as a friend. We come closer to Him in the preparation for the first reception of the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist. This is a special time of taking our place in the community of faith. The children begin to see that they have a role to play, that what they do is important. They see how they can bring the presence of God into their own interactions with family and friends, helping the world to be a better place.

Staff Member:

When you become a part of the St. Catherine’s community there are abundant opportunities to be involved in activities outside of the classroom. The choir and band programs are excellent with experienced instructors who make learning fun in these areas. Throughout the year there are a multitude of sporting activities that help to augment the St. Catherine’s extra-curricular programs. Volleyball, basketball, soccer, track and field, and cross country give the children a range of opportunity to showcase their talent and develop confidence and self-esteem.

How to Apply to St. Catherine's

1. Learn about our school.
   Feel free to call [ 604-534-6564 ] to schedule a tour of our school, meet some of our dedicated faculty, and receive enrollment information.
2. Download, print, and complete the Kindergarten Application Form for New Families.
3. Return to the school office by Friday, February 12, 2010
• Completed Application Form,
• Copy of your child's Baptismal Certficate, and
• $40.00 non-refundable application fee (applied to the registration fee if accepted)
4. Interviews will be scheduled with the Principal and our Parish Priest, Father Donald Larson.
5. You will be formally notified if your child is accepted.
   Following acceptance, you will be asked for copies of:
• Birth certificate
• Immunization Record
• Last Report Card (if applicable)
• Legal Residency Form
• Letter of Commitment
• Immigration Papers (if applicable)
• Pastor's Authorization Form
