At St. Catherine’s Elementary School, we strive for excellence in education and endeavour to meet the unique needs of every student. Guided by our Catholic faith, we are committed to developing the spiritual, academic, physical, and emotional needs of our students. Set in a supportive learning environment, we foster a love of learning, a strong work ethic, and provide students with a solid, well-rounded education.

As you navigate through this website, you will get a better understanding of our school, what we stand for, and our quality programs. We encourage our students to explore and develop their talents and interests and become involved in the many extra-curricular activities we offer. Our knowledgeable and talented staff are committed to your child’s education and their journey to be the best they can be.

I encourage prospective families to make an appointment, and I will be honoured to show you around this fabulous school.

Mr. Jeff Brophy

Our Parish Education Committee

The Parish Education Committee (PEC) operates within the mandate of the Catholic Independent Schools Vancouver Archdiocese (CISVA). The PEC provides support and leadership in the running of St. Catherine’s Elementary. The PEC makes decisions and sets policy to govern the school, providing these decisions fall within the CISVA Board’s policies and regulations.
Decisions are made with the approval of the Pastor and in consultation with the Principal. The PEC oversees the budget, the operation and maintenance of the school, hiring of staff, and the daily operations of the school.

The PEC is composed of seven lay members of St. Joseph’s Parish and the Pastor who is the Archbishop’s Representative.
Our principal and at least one staff member also attend PEC meetings, which are typically held on the third Tuesday of each month.

PEC Members 2024-2025:

Our Patron Saint

St. Catherine of Siena is the patron saint of our school.  She was born in 1347 and died at the age of 33. She is known for her generosity to the poor, receiving the wounds of Christ and as a Doctor of the Church. She inspires us to work hard in our studies and become Christ-like in our generosity and kindness to others.

“Be who you were created to be, and you will set the world on fire.”
― St. Catherine of Siena
